Dear Parents of Confirmation Candidates,
We hope this message finds you and your families doing well.
We are writing to provide the online registration form and information for the Sacrament of Confirmation to be conferred at Our Lady of the Angels Parish this coming fall 2025. As you may have heard, the Archdiocese of Boston lowered the age for the reception of Confirmation last year. As a result of having multiple grades receiving the Sacrament this year and even more candidates than usual, we will be conferring Confirmation on multiple days/times.
Saturday, September 27 at 10 a.m.
Saturday September 27 at 12 p.m.
Sunday, September 28 at 1 p.m.
(Rehearsal for these Confirmations will be on Thursday, September 25 at 6:30 p.m.)
Saturday, October 4 at 10 a.m.
Saturday, October 4 at 12 p.m.
Sunday, October 5 at 1 p.m.
(Rehearsal for these Confirmations will be on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m.)
You will have the opportunity to select the date and time that works best for you and your family when you fill out the Confirmation Registration Form at the bottom of this message. Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available for each of the Confirmation ceremonies, and times are assigned on a first come, first served basis. In the beginning of September, you will receive some additional information from us specific to the Confirmation ceremony.
In order to complete the registration for Confirmation, you will need to know your son or daughter's intended Confirmation name, sponsor, and Baptismal information. Please be sure to review the attached document below, which outlines the requirements for choosing a Confirmation name and sponsor. As was discussed in class this past year, the sponsor must be at least 16 years old, a confirmed Catholic who regularly practices their faith, and cannot be a parent of the Confirmation candidate.
If you have any questions regarding Confirmation, the best way to reach us is to send an email to Confirmation@LifeTeenSMASH.com. We will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible and kindly ask for your patience should you not hear back right away.
Finally, we want to encourage your teens (and you) to attend the Life Teen Mass on Sundays at 6 p.m. at St. Mary's in Hanover. It has been awesome to have so many Confirmation candidates join us throughout the year after class, but as they continue to prepare for Confirmation and become fully initiated members of the Church, attending Mass each week should be a priority. In addition to the Mass, we also have tons of events and activities throughout the year for high school teens which can be found on LifeTeenSMASH.com. This coming Sunday, June 1 following the 6 p.m. Mass we even have our Welcome Luau event, which is the perfect night for anyone new to join us and get introduced to what Life Teen is all about.
Remember, Confirmation is not an ending or graduation, but rather a beginning and initiation into a life of faith. We believe that our Life Teen program provides a community where your teen can continue to grow and develop their relationship with God. We hope and pray that they take advantage of all that Life Teen has to offer.
We are looking forward to celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation with you all. Be assured of our continued prayers for you and our Confirmandi.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
